For being such a linux geek you should get behind mac os x. It is at its core a unix os. You can use all of your oss tools and play (some) games on it.
Actually, I don't think I'm such a Linux geek anymore. I know my way around the operating system, but I don't use it much anymore. It isn't very useful at all. The only thing I use it for these days is when I feel like attempting to crack a wireless network, which doesn't happen too often. I've been there and done that.
